This program is designed to help clients become familiar and comfortable completing their stretching, strengthening and balance exercises on a regular basis. It is hoped that the group atmosphere will act as a motivating factor for these clients, and that commitment to regular exercise and their individual physiotherapy program will continue throughout their youth and into their adult life.
This group is designed for those higher functioning clients on a physiotherapy caseload who are at least 10 years of age, are able to participate actively and independently for more stretching/strengthening and balance exercises and be a positive member of the group. The group will be limited to no more than 10 participants.
Clients must be referred by a PT or another clinician at CRCA. Prior to starting the group a brief screen must be completed to ensure this client is suitable for participation.
The group sessions last for 45 minutes and will be led by a physiotherapist. It consists of a short warm-up, followed by flexibility balance, strenght and relaxation exercises.
